For example, in the Sprint Experience project, Nol-Tec Southeast mounted our laser-based solution in the top of an entry way - projecting two invisible "lines" tracking people entering and exiting. Here's how it works:

• Rapidly scanning back and forth, the laser finds the profile/outline of all objects underneath.
• When line 1 is broken, followed by line 2, it counts the person below as entering.
• When the reverse is true, it counts the person below as exiting.
• The outdoor unit is rated for use between 10 and 50 mounting feet, with a width of 8 to 88 feet.
• Coupled with a localized count processor and a cellular link, it transmits its data wirelessly.
• All equipment is fully-rated for outdoor wet use.
